Today many people watch movies and listen to music through the internet or apps. That is convenient, but sometimes movies or songs disappear from streaming services, television, or even music apps. When that happens, it can be hard to find those favorites again. This is one reason why older media formats are still special.




Having a DVD player can be very helpful. Watching movies on a DVD means you can enjoy them anytime without depending on the internet. Many newer laptops no longer come with built-in DVD drives, but there are small external DVD players that you can buy online and connect to a laptop. They are often a cute compact size and can sit right next to the laptop. DVD players can also be connected to a TV, so you can watch your favorite movies anywhere. 




This makes it easy to enjoy DVDs whether you are using a computer or a television. If a movie is no longer available on TV or online, having the DVD allows you to keep enjoying it whenever you want.




Music from CDs and cassette tapes also has its own charm. CDs are nice because you can easily skip to different songs using a player or remote control. It is quick and simple to move to the song you want to hear. Many people enjoy collecting CDs because they keep the music safe even if it disappears from streaming apps.




Cassette tapes are special in a different way. One of the fun things about cassette tapes is that you can record songs from different artists all onto one tape. This lets you create your own collection of favorite songs all in one place. Many people used to make their own mix tapes filled with music they loved, which made listening feel more personal. 




CDs and cassette tapes each have their own advantages—CDs let you skip to songs quickly, while cassette tapes let you combine many favorites together. Both can still bring enjoyment today.
