Why Biker Safety Matters on Our Streets

Bikes can be fun and a great way to get around, but they can also be very dangerous if riders aren’t careful. Accidents can happen in seconds, and even when everyone thinks they are being careful, serious injuries or worse can occur.

I recently learned about a tragic accident where a biker ran into a young adult who was with her parents. Sadly, she didn’t survive. This reminds us that safety is not just about ourselves—it affects everyone around us.

Riders should always follow traffic rules, wear helmets, and be aware of pedestrians and other vehicles. Everyone sharing the streets has a responsibility to watch out for each other. Pedestrians and bystanders should also stay alert and avoid areas where bikers might be riding recklessly.

Accidents like this are heartbreaking, but raising awareness can help prevent them. By staying careful, respecting traffic rules, and being mindful of others, we can all make our streets safer.
