Game cartridge not working? Try these tips!

Retro Nintendo cartridge not working? Try these tips.

This guide works for Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo DS game cartridges.

Steps:

  1. Check the metal contacts on the cartridge.

  2. Gently rub the contacts with a clean pencil eraser.

  3. Wipe away any dust with a dry, soft cloth.

  4. Insert the cartridge slowly and firmly into the system.

  5. If it does not load, remove and reinsert the cartridge a few times.

  6. Make sure the cartridge and the game slot are clean and dry.

Important:

Do not use water or wet cleaners.

Do not use oil, saliva, or sticky liquids.

Be gentle to avoid damaging the cartridge.

Tip:

If the game still does not work, the console game slot may also need cleaning, or the cartridge may need repair.
